Errata

"Morphological and molecular systematics of Rocky Mountain alpine Laccaria" by Todd W. Osmundson, Cathy L. Cripps and Gregory M. Mueller, Mycologia 97(5):949–972 was placed in Biochemistry/Physiology in the Table of Contents; it should have appeared in Systematics.

In the article "Neonectria castaneicola and Neo. rugulosa in Japan" by Hirooka et al, Mycologia 97(5):1058–1066, abbreviations for Neonectria (Neo.) and Nectria (N.) were printed in error. Revised information is provided below.

RESULTS

Page 1062. The first sentence under Colony growth should read: Both Neo. castaneicola and Neo. rugulosa grew at a range of 5 to 35 C with an optimum temperature of 25 C.

Page 1062. The first sentence of the second paragraph under Comparison of DNA sequences and Molecular phylogenetic relationship should read: Based upon the results shown (FIG. 3) Clade I (bootstrap 100%), Clade II (bootstrap 95%), Clade II (bootstrap 100%) includes Nectria rugulosa and N. veuillotiana-groups (Neo. castaneicola, Neo. jungneri, Neo. rugulosa and Neo. veuillotiana), N. coccinea/galligena and N. mammoidea-groups (Neo. coccinea, Neo. discopora, Neo. galligena and Neo. ramulariae), N. radicicola-groups (Neo. radicicola), respectively.

Page 1062 and 1063. The last sentence of the second paragraph under Comparison of DNA sequences and Molecular phylogenetic relationship should read: Thus these three clades correlate with five groups by Rossman et al (1999) classified based upon N. coccinea/galligena, N. mammoidea, N. rugulosa, N. radicicola and N. veuillotiana groups.

DISCUSSION

Page 1064. The tenth sentence in the second paragraph should read: Nectria rugulosa-group (Neo. castaneicola and Neo. rugulosa) and N. veuillotiana-group were distinguished by Rossman et al (1999) based upon the morphology of the surface of ascospore and presence of microconidia even though their structure of perithecial wall was same.
